Bilge water

A fully automatic continuous flow Emulsion Breaking Bilge Water Cleaning System

The Marinfloc CD-system is a fully automatic bilge water cleaning system approved to MEPC 107(49). The cleaning process is based on DAF(dissolved air flotation). This technique has proven to be the most reliable and most cost effective way to treat emulsified bilge water on  board ships and the average cost for every 1000 litres overboard is approximately 3,5 USD.

Of course we are certified by all major classification societies and do also have a certificate for 5 ppm by DNV. The CD unit comes in a range capacity between 0,25m3 to 5,0m3 to suite all type of engine rooms.

EGR

Exhaust Gas recirculation (EGR) is used to reduce NOx as per the Tier III requirements when use with compliant fuel as LSFO, VLSFO or LNG. The EGR process will generate a portion of bleed off water that must be treated to < 15 PPM which is also the requirement for bilge water. By combining the two treatment systems, Capital Expenditures will be significantly reduced without any negative impact on performance. Additionally, there will also be a welcomed reduction in Operating Expenditures as maintenance, spare parts and training are needed only for one unit.

The system is based on Marinfloc’s well-known flocculation technology with thousands of references worldwide. The Whitebox® is included as standard to segregate the waste streams, to eliminate cross contamination and record all activities. Moreover, the Whitebox® fulfils the EXXON requirements and is Marinfloc’s recommendation on all US calling vessels.

Many shipowners are hesitant to use EGR solutions because of the additional treatment unit that must be put onboard the vessel. The Marinfloc system not only removes one unit but also adds one of the markets most reputable high performance bilge separator that produces effluent values as standard on <5ppm.

By adopting the Marinfloc system you will take advantage of all the benefits with EGR without adding an extra treatment unit. Even lower Operating Expenditures can be achieved when the Marinfloc system is used in combination with the MAN-ES ECO EGR.

Whitebox

The Whitebox® is installed between the Oily Water Separator (OWS) and overboard valve and is a protection system to prevent illegal discharges of bilge water from machinery spaces on-board ships. The Whitebox contains all vital monitoring and control equipment for the overboard discharge in a locked cabinet connected to the vessels GPS. All vital data such as Oil content, valve positions, flow through the oil content monitor and overboard flow, door open/closed, vessel’s position and time is recorded in a digital recorder. The Whitebox can also monitor sewage overboard pump or STP running if connected. The data is stored in a secure digital format in the recorder and the history can be presented on the display or on a separate computer. That enables the crew to present the discharge data to USCG, Vetting, Class or port state and can prove that the operations have been compliant.
